Enginseer

The keeper of sacred machinery under fire. Repairs vehicles, blesses weapons, restores armor, deploys servo-skulls, patches cybernetics, and keeps the holy engines moving while everything explodes.

Class Dossier — Enginseer

Working Draft · v0.1

Enginseer

The machine is wounded. You are the sutures.

Forge-Bound ClassAvailable in 1.0Working Draft

The Enginseer is a battlefield tech-priest of repair, warplate, weapons, vehicles, and machine survival.

Where the Tech-Adept interprets and accesses machines, the Enginseer keeps them alive under fire. They bless barrels, weld wounds shut, coax engines through impossible damage, and punish anyone foolish enough to interrupt maintenance.

The class fantasy is simple:

An Enginseer survives through Intellect, Toughness, repair rites, servo-tools, machine authority, sacred maintenance, and the belief that every battlefield is just a workshop with worse lighting.

// Design Philosophy

The Enginseer should not play like a generic battlefield mechanic. The class should create moments like:

  • I weld the wound shut while the shells are still falling.
  • I coax the engine through damage it should not survive.
  • I bless the barrel before it fails us both.
  • I put the servo-arm through whoever interrupted maintenance.
  • I treat the battlefield as a workshop with worse lighting.

Signature Mechanic — Repair Rites

Signature Mechanic

Repair Rites are the Enginseer signature class mechanic.

A Repair Rite restores, stabilizes, reinforces, blesses, or weaponizes technology under battlefield conditions.

// Rules Draft
  • An Enginseer starts with 3 Repair Rites at level 1.
  • Repair Rites use limited Rite Uses.
  • Rite Uses are restored after a safe rest.
  • Draft Rite Uses: Proficiency Bonus per safe rest.
  • Repair Rites use the Enginseer Rite DC when opposed.

Rite DC = 8 + Proficiency Bonus + Intellect modifier

Repair Rites are special. Enginseers do not gain a new Rite every level.

Machine Integrity

Machine Integrity

Machine Integrity represents temporary reinforced function granted to weapons, armor, augmetics, vehicles, servitors, or machines.

// Rules Draft
  • Some Repair Rites grant Machine Integrity.
  • Machine Integrity can absorb a malfunction, add temporary durability, refund an attack's expended ammunition, resist Overheat, or delay breakdown.
  • A machine can normally benefit from one Machine Integrity effect at a time.

The machine does not fail. It merely requests more devotion.

Field Benediction of Function

Choose one weapon, armor, augmetic, or machine within touch. Its next roll, save, attack, or defense-related use gains +1.

Repair Rite

Emergency Repair

Restore limited function to one damaged weapon, armor system, door, engine, vehicle, servo-skull, or battlefield device for one scene.

Repair Rite

Armor Patch Rite

One ally within touch gains temporary Vitality equal to your Proficiency Bonus and +1 Defense against the next attack before your next turn.

Repair Rite

Calm the Overheat

When a weapon would Overheat or malfunction within 30 feet, use your Reaction to delay that consequence until after the action resolves.

Repair Rite

Servo-Arm Intercession

Make a servo-assisted shove, brace, repair, lift, or strike. Gain +2 to the check, or deal additional damage equal to your Proficiency Bonus on a hit.

Repair Rite

Machine-Spirit Rebuke

Force a hostile machine, turret, trap, servo, or vehicle system to make a resistance check against your Rite DC. On failure, it stalls, loses Reaction, or becomes Exposed until your next turn.

Repair Rite

Sanctify the Engine

A vehicle, drone, servitor, or heavy machine within touch gains Advantage on its next save or check to keep functioning under stress.

Rite Trees

Progression System

Enginseer progression uses Rite Trees.

Each rank costs 1 Rite Point and requires the previous rank in that tree unless future rules say otherwise.
