Warpfire Witch
A dangerous witch specializing in flame, mutation, and Perils.
Threat File — Warpfire Witch
TR 7 · Chaos God-Aligned CultsSaves: Willpower +8, Agility +5
Pyromantic Mastery. The witch's warpflame ignores Light Cover and keeps burning on ground, armor, and probability alike; zones it ignites burn until the end of the scene.
Borne on Burning Wings. Wings of blue flame grant the witch flight. While airborne it is a moving artillery problem, not an emplacement; grounding it (nets, Suppression, psychic counters) should feel like the tide turning.
The Price Is Posted. The witch's power grows as the fight lengthens: its warpflame deals +1 damage for each round after the second. Once per scene it may double the effect of one action, rolling Perils regardless of outcome — the table should see the fire getting brighter.
Storm of Change. A 20-foot-radius blast of warpflame centered on a point within 100 feet. Creatures in the area make an Agility Save DC 14, taking 3d8 fire damage on a failure or half on a success. A creature that fails by 5 or more also risks mutation and Corruption exposure.
Lance of the Nine Suns. A focused line 60 feet long and 5 feet wide. Creatures in the line make an Agility Save DC 14 or take 2d10 + 3 fire damage. The lance ignores cover entirely and burns through the wall behind the last target.
Rewrite the Flesh. One enemy within 60 feet makes a Willpower Save DC 14 or suffers a temporary mutation of the GM's design until the scene ends, imposing Disadvantage on rolls that rely on the changed part.
Burning Ascent. When a melee attack misses the witch, she flies up to 20 feet without provoking Reactive Fire, laughing.
Morale: Fights with soaring arrogance until bloodied, then pushes recklessly — it will risk Perils, mutation, and its own coven before it will retreat and be seen to have failed.
Tactics: Keep it airborne and moving, walking area damage across the party's cover while acolytes hold the ground. It escalates on a visible curve — the party is racing the witch's own power spiral, and killing it late means killing it mid-catastrophe.
Loot / Evidence / Hooks: Her grimoire of nine-part formulae, still warm to the touch and slightly heavier each time it is opened.
Enemy Dossier
GM ReferenceThe Warpfire Witch is a dangerous psyker specializing in flame, mutation, and the kind of failure that scars a battlefield. It is the Blue-Flame Acolyte's terminal degree — power without a leash, ambition without a floor.
Use this enemy as the psychic centerpiece of a Tzeentchian battle: area devastation, mutation threats, and Perils as a live table stake.
Moderate durability, high area psychic damage, mutation and Corruption pressure, flight-capable evasion, severe Perils volatility that endangers both sides.
