Triarch Praetorian-Type
A mobile elite enforcer with ancient authority.
Threat File — Triarch Praetorian-Type
TR 10 · NecronsSaves: Toughness +8, Willpower +8
Senses: Sees normally in total darkness
Gravity Displacement. The praetorian flies, ignoring terrain, elevation, and carefully planned Fire Lanes. It never falls; it descends.
Keeper of the Code. The praetorian is immune to fear and Morale effects. Once per scene it may ignore one control effect — Pinned, Stunned, slowed, or forced movement — as beneath its office.
Rod of Covenant. Verdict and sentence from the same instrument. Melee Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target, or Ranged Attack: +8 to hit, range 30/60 ft., one target. Hit: 2d10 + 4 energy damage, and the target loses 1 Defense as armor is burned away (until repaired).
Descending Judgment. The praetorian dives from height onto a target below it, flying up to its full speed, and makes one Rod of Covenant strike — with Advantage if the target is Exposed. On a hit the strike deals an extra 1d10.
Void Blade Flurry. The praetorian makes two strikes. Melee Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d10 + 4 rending damage, and the target loses 1 Defense as armor is carved away (until repaired).
Aerial Poise. When the praetorian takes damage from a ranged attack, it may fly up to 20 feet without provoking attacks, selecting a better angle of enforcement.
Morale: Does not make Morale checks. It withdraws skyward only to select a better angle of enforcement.
Tactics: Praetorians attack the party's assumptions about safety: back lines, rooftops, gantries, the sniper's perch. Drop them onto whoever thought elevation made them untouchable. They fight independently of other Necron command — a second, unnegotiable agenda on the field.
Loot / Evidence / Hooks: The rod of covenant bears glyphs of a law older than the dynasties; scholars of the Triarch would trade fortunes for a rubbing, let alone the rod.
Enemy Dossier
GM ReferenceA Triarch Praetorian-Type answers to a law older than the dynasties themselves, descending on gravity displacement wings to enforce codes no living species signed. It fights like a judge who brought the sentence with it.
Use this enemy when the battlefield's vertical space should become hostile, or when a Necron force needs an elite element that answers to no local Lord.
High durability, flight mobility, elite melee and short-range particle fire, morale immunity, arrives where it is least convenient.
Gravity Displacement. Flies; ignores terrain, elevation, and the party's carefully planned Fire Lanes.
Keeper of the Code. Immune to fear and Morale; once per scene it may ignore a control effect (Pinned, slow, forced movement) as beneath its office.
Rod of Covenant. Melee strike or short-range particle blast, both armor-punishing; the same instrument delivers verdict and sentence.
Descending Judgment. Dives from height onto a target: movement plus attack with Advantage against Exposed prey.
Void Blade Flurry. Rapid melee attacks that degrade armor with each hit.
Morale: None; it withdraws skyward only to select a better angle of enforcement.
