Saves: Toughness +10

Senses: Drone spotters and markerlight feeds: it targets normally through smoke, darkness, and light cover

// Traits

Railgun Physics. The railgun ignores cover quality entirely. When it destroys or disables a light vehicle or emplacement, the shot continues: one target in line behind it takes half the railgun's damage (Agility Save DC 17 for none).

Stand-Off Doctrine. The gunship fights from ranges where reply is difficult, and relocates after every second shot. Any single ballistic or las attack that deals 12 or less damage is shrugged off by its armor.

Drone Screen. Two attached drones (Defense 15, Vitality 10 each) each absorb one hit that would strike the gunship, once per drone per scene, and spot for the gun.

// Actions

Railgun Strike. Ranged Attack: +10 to hit, range 500/1500 ft., one target. Hit: 5d10 + 8 piercing damage. Vehicles and emplacements are the preferred diet; against them this attack ignores armor plating traits.

Submunition Burst. The railgun fires an airburst at a point within 500 feet. Each creature within 15 feet of that point makes an Agility Save DC 17, taking 3d10 + 4 ballistic damage and becoming Suppressed on a failure, or half damage on a success.

Displace. The gunship moves up to twice its Movement along terrain the party cannot use, resetting the engagement geometry. This movement does not provoke Reactive Fire.

// Reactions

Drone Interpose. When an attack would hit the gunship, one attached drone may take the hit instead.

Morale: Withdraws by doctrine when its drones are stripped and threats close; the asset is preserved for the next engagement.

Tactics: Open the encounter with what its gun does to something the party valued. Then make it a hunt: it relocates, screens with drones, and refuses close combat while the party stalks its firing positions. Killing it requires ambush, terrain denial, or getting inside its stand-off range and staying there.

Loot / Evidence / Hooks: A railgun no human forge can copy, intact targeting drones, and fire-control cogitators the Mechanicus would quietly kill to examine.

Enemy Dossier

GM Reference

A T'au Hammerhead-Type Gunship is a grav tank built around a weapon that hates armor — a railgun that treats cover, hulls, and doctrine as the same thin material. It kills the party's vehicle, bunker, or biggest asset first, from further away than feels reasonable.

// Battlefield Use

Use this vehicle when the party's armor, emplacement, or war engine needs a predator — or when open ground must become unthinkable at kilometer scale.

// Threat Profile

Threat Profile: Medium grav armor with drone screen, extreme-range anti-armor firepower, cover-defeating main gun, mobile and patient, weak in close assault, crew withdraws by doctrine.

// Signature Traits

Railgun Physics. Its main gun ignores cover quality and punches through light vehicles into whatever was behind them.

Stand-Off Doctrine. It fights from ranges where reply is difficult, relocating after every second shot.

Drone Screen. Attached drones absorb the first incoming hits and spot for the gun.

// Signature Actions

Railgun Strike. Devastating single-target attack; vehicles and emplacements are the preferred diet.

Submunition Burst. Area attack against infantry; everything in the zone saves or is damaged and Suppressed.

Displace. Relocates along terrain the party cannot use, resetting the engagement geometry.

Morale: Withdraws by doctrine when drones are stripped and threats close — the asset is preserved for the next engagement.
