Saves: Toughness +8

Senses: Drone reconnaissance feed: the crew sees through its attached drones' sensors

// Traits

Grav Poise. The Devilfish ignores terrain entirely; rivers, rubble, and barricades are beneath its notice. It never suffers movement penalties or terrain hazards.

Drone Screen. Two attached drones (Defense 15, Vitality 10 each) each absorb one hit that would strike the transport, once per drone per scene. Killing them first is correct and feels slow.

Fire Team Doctrine. Its squad of up to eight mounts and dismounts with drilled speed as part of the transport's movement and is never Suppressed by the maneuver.

// Actions

Burst Cannon. Ranged Attack: +7 to hit, range 80/240 ft., one target. Hit: 2d8 + 3 energy damage.

Burst Cannon Cover. The transport suppresses a 15-foot zone within burst cannon range to protect a mounting or dismounting team. Creatures in the zone make a Willpower Save DC 15 or become Suppressed until the start of the transport's next turn.

Combat Extraction. The transport moves up to its full Movement, collects one allied fire team within 10 feet of any point on its path, and completes its movement. This movement does not provoke Reactive Fire from Suppressed creatures.

// Reactions

Drone Interpose. When an attack would hit the transport or a dismounting ally within 10 feet, one attached drone may take the hit instead.

Morale: Withdraws by doctrine, not fear. Preserving the team always outranks holding ground.

Tactics: Deny the party every satisfying kill: bloodied fire teams extract, fresh ones appear on flanks, and the transport never loiters. The counter is anticipation: hit the landing zone, not the vehicle. When it finally dies, it dies doing something efficient.

Loot / Evidence / Hooks: Intact drones, a grav drive worth more than the mission fee, and T'au positional data that maps every cadre element in the region.

Enemy Dossier

GM Reference

A T'au Devilfish-Type Transport is a disciplined grav carrier that repositions fire teams the way a player moves pieces — quietly, precisely, and always to a better square. Fighting the infantry without accounting for their taxi means fighting them twice.

// Battlefield Use

Use this vehicle to make T'au infantry impossible to pin: extractions mid-fight, flank insertions, and fire teams that are never where the party planned.

// Threat Profile

Threat Profile: Medium grav armor, high smooth mobility, drone-screened, burst-cannon Suppression, squad delivery and extraction, disciplined withdrawal, vulnerable when its drones are stripped.

// Signature Traits

Drone Screen. Attached drones absorb the first hits each scene; killing them first is correct and feels slow.

Fire Team Doctrine. Its squad mounts and dismounts with drilled speed, never Suppressed by the maneuver.

// Signature Actions

Burst Cannon Cover. Suppresses a zone to protect a mounting or dismounting team.

Combat Extraction. Collects a bloodied fire team under fire and is gone before Reactive Fire matters.

Overwatch Insertion. Delivers its team to a flank with immediate firing positions prepared by drone reconnaissance.

Morale: Withdraws by doctrine, not fear — preserving the team always outranks holding ground.

Tactics: Use it to deny the party every satisfying kill: bloodied fire teams extract, fresh ones appear on flanks, and the transport never loiters. The counter is anticipation — hitting the landing zone, not the vehicle. When it finally dies, it should die doing something efficient.
