Saves: Toughness +7, Willpower +7

Senses: Perceives through the sorcerer's sight; unaffected by darkness or smoke within 60 feet

// Traits

All Is Dust. The rubric marine is immune to fear, Frightened, Morale pressure, Suppression, poison, and disease. Nothing that targets a mind works on it; there is no one inside.

Ensorcelled Plate. Whenever the rubric marine takes damage, reduce that damage by 3 (minimum 1). Its warp-etched wards give it Advantage on saves against psychic effects.

Puppet of the Rubric. The rubric marine acts in perfect coordination with other Rubricae. If its controlling sorcerer is slain, it slows, acting only every other round.

// Actions

Inferno Bolter. Ranged Attack: +7 to hit, range 80/240 ft., one target. Hit: 2d8 + 3 fire damage. The attack ignores Light Cover, and on a critical hit the target's armor is scorched, reducing its Defense by 1 until repaired.

Measured Volley. The rubric marine makes one Inferno Bolter attack as part of a firing line: it gains +1 to hit for each other rubric marine that attacked the same target this round (maximum +3).

Unhurried Advance. The rubric marine moves up to half its speed and makes one Inferno Bolter attack. Reactive Fire against it during this movement has Disadvantage as its wards flare.

// Reactions

Silent Correction. When an enemy within 60 feet leaves cover, the rubric marine may make one Inferno Bolter attack against it.

Morale: Does not make Morale checks; no morale exists to break. It fights until destroyed or until the will directing it withdraws.

Tactics: March them in a slow, silent line with overlapping fire — their horror is their calm. They make no mistakes but take no initiative, so the party's opening is the sorcerer directing them. Telegraph that link and let clever players cut the strings.

Loot / Evidence / Hooks: The armor holds nothing but warm dust and warded ceramite; the seals and sigils are worth study, and the dust is worth a funeral.

Enemy Dossier

GM Reference

A Rubric Marine is a sealed suit of ensorcelled warplate filled with dust and obedience, walking wherever a sorcerer's will points it. It cannot be demoralized, reasoned with, or frightened, because there is no one inside.

// Battlefield Use

Use this enemy as tireless, eerie line infantry for Tzeentchian forces — a firefight against opponents who never flinch and never miss a step.

// Threat Profile

High durability, warpflame bolter fire that defeats armor, total immunity to fear and morale, slow and metronomic, degrades when its controlling sorcerer falls.
