Plaguebearer-Type Daemon
A slow durable lesser daemon of rot.
Threat File — Plaguebearer-Type Daemon
TR 6 · Daemons & Warp EntitiesSaves: Toughness +7
Senses: Its single eye is not fooled by camouflage or dim light within 60 feet
Daemonic Nature. Does not make Morale checks and is immune to fear, Suppression, poison, and disease. At 0 Vitality it is banished into a slick of filth.
Disgustingly Resilient. The plaguebearer reduces all incoming damage by 2. Killing one takes more than it should, every time.
The Drone of the Count. Enemies within 20 feet of two or more plaguebearers have Disadvantage on Morale checks; the counting gets into their heads.
Plaguesword. Melee Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2d8 + 3 slashing damage, and the target makes a Toughness Save DC 13 or contracts a festering sickness, taking 1d4 toxic damage at the start of each of its turns until cleansed.
Shamble On. The plaguebearer advances up to its full Movement through fire, wire, and toxic ground without penalty or damage, at exactly the same pace as always.
Add to the Tally. When an enemy within 30 feet sickens or drops to 0 Vitality, the plaguebearer regains 5 Vitality and speaks the new number aloud.
Morale: Does not make Morale checks (daemonic nature). It neither hurries nor hesitates, and it continues its count while being shot.
Tactics: March them in a line at a walking pace and let the dread come from the arithmetic: the party's damage is being reduced, their wounds are festering, and the count keeps climbing. They hold objectives beautifully because they never leave. Mobility beats them; endurance contests do not.
Loot / Evidence / Hooks: The tally it drones includes numbers that match local plague-deaths exactly — evidence, if transcribed, of where the contagion began.
Enemy Dossier
GM ReferenceA Plaguebearer-Type Daemon is a slow, durable lesser daemon of rot — a one-eyed tallyman counting diseases in a drone that never stops. It advances at a walk because nothing the party has changes the outcome enough to hurry for.
Use this enemy as Nurgle's line infantry: an attrition wall that holds ground, fouls it, and outlasts the party's ammunition and optimism.
High durability for its tier, damage reduction, disease-laden melee, slow, morale erosion through the drone of the tally, immune to fear and Suppression, banished rather than killed.
