// Traits

Disgustingly Resilient. Whenever the plague marine takes damage, reduce that damage by 3 (minimum 1). It is immune to poison and disease.

Cloud of Flies. Creatures that start their turn within 10 feet of the plague marine make a Toughness Save DC 14 or have Disadvantage on their next attack roll. A creature that fails this save twice in one scene suffers Corruption exposure.

Inexorable Advance. The plague marine cannot be Pinned or Suppressed, and its Movement cannot be reduced below 15 feet.

// Actions

Blight Bolter. Ranged Attack: +5 to hit, range 80/240 ft., one target. Hit: 2d8 + 2 ballistic damage plus 1d4 poison damage.

Plague Knife. Melee Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2d6 + 4 piercing damage, and the target makes a Toughness Save DC 14 or contracts a festering sickness: it takes 1d4 poison damage at the start of each of its turns until it succeeds a Toughness Save DC 14 at the end of one of its turns.

Blight Grenade. The plague marine lobs a rotting grenade at a point within 40 feet. Creatures within 10 feet of the point make an Agility Save DC 13, taking 3d6 poison damage on a failure or half on a success. The zone counts as toxic ground until the start of the plague marine's next turn.

Morale: Does not make Morale checks; rot and devotion have burned out its fear.

Tactics: Walk straight through kill zones cover cannot save it from, foul chokepoints with blight grenades, and let the flies and sickness grind down anyone who stands and fights.

Enemy Dossier

GM Reference

A Plague Marine is a diseased transhuman who takes an unreasonable amount of killing and knows it. He walks through kill zones cover cannot save him from and lets rot finish what the bolter starts.

// Battlefield Use

Use this enemy when the encounter needs an advance the party cannot stop, only survive — attrition wearing power armor.

// Threat Profile

Very high durability, damage reduction, disease and poison pressure, toxic aura, immune to suppression, slow but unstoppable, Corruption exposure on prolonged contact.

// Signature Traits

Disgustingly Resilient. Reduces all incoming damage; immune to poison and disease.

Cloud of Flies. Creatures starting their turn within 10 feet risk Disadvantage on their next attack; repeated failures cause Corruption exposure.

Inexorable Advance. Cannot be Pinned or Suppressed; movement cannot drop below 15 feet.

// Signature Actions

Blight Bolter. Ranged attack with a poison rider.

Plague Knife. Melee attack that inflicts a festering sickness dealing ongoing poison damage.

Blight Grenade. Poison burst that leaves toxic ground in a chokepoint.

Morale: Does not check morale; rot and devotion have burned out its fear.

Tactics: Walk him forward in the open, on purpose. He fouls chokepoints with blight grenades, contests the ground the party needs, and lets flies and sickness grind down anyone who stands to trade. His counter is focused fire and mobility — punish parties that try to outlast him instead.
