Saves: Toughness +9, Willpower +8

// Traits

Daemonic Nature. Does not make Morale checks and is immune to fear, Suppression, poison, and disease. At 0 Vitality it is banished into a garden of filth.

Grandfather's Steward. Lesser Nurgle daemons within 60 feet reduce all incoming damage by 2 and act on the herald's direction.

Miasma of the Manse. The ground within 20 feet of the herald is toxic to enemies: creatures starting their turn there make a Toughness Save DC 15 or take 1d6 toxic damage, and healing attempted inside the miasma fails.

// Actions

Balesword. Melee Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2d10 + 4 slashing damage, and the wound festers, resisting all healing until ritually cleansed.

Bestow the Blessing. One enemy within 30 feet makes a Toughness Save DC 15 or contracts a named disease: for the rest of the scene it suffers Disadvantage on Toughness saves and cannot regain Vitality.

Gather the Garden. The herald commands: two lesser Nurgle daemon units within 60 feet immediately advance, or once per scene a nurgling swarm manifests from fouled ground within 20 feet.

// Reactions

Bilious Rebuke. When a creature hits the herald with a melee attack, filth sprays: the attacker makes a Toughness Save DC 15 or takes 1d8 toxic damage.

Morale: Does not make Morale checks (daemonic nature). It treats losing ground as a gardening setback and being banished as a brief errand elsewhere.

Tactics: It advances at the center of its daemons like the eye of a very slow storm, making everything around it harder to kill and everywhere near it worse to stand. It speaks to the party throughout — kindly, horribly, remembering their names. Kill it early or leave; the middle path is where its arithmetic lives.

Loot / Evidence / Hooks: Its garden-plot of banishment yields a rusted balesword hilt that never dries; the diseases it named the party are recorded, lovingly, in a waterlogged ledger nearby.

GM Reference

A Nurgle Herald-Type is a daemon leader spreading disease and despair with the gentle authority of a village elder — proud of its blights, generous with them, and patient beyond all mortal measure. Where it walks, the ground gives up.
