Marker Drone
A drone that marks targets for coordinated fire.
Threat File — Marker Drone
TR 2 · T'au EmpireSenses: High-loiter optics ignore dim light and smoke within 90 feet
Autonomous Mark. The drone maintains a markerlight on one target without needing orders; the mark persists until the drone is destroyed or retasks.
High Loiter. The drone hovers above the fight. A creature cannot target it until it succeeds on an Awareness check DC 12 to pick the disc out against the sky or ceiling.
Markerlight. The drone illuminates one visible creature. T'au ranged attacks against that creature gain +2 to hit while the mark persists.
Retask. When its current target reaches cover, the drone shifts its mark to the nearest Exposed enemy.
Morale: Does not make Morale checks (machine protocol). It loiters until destroyed or recalled.
Tactics: Park it high with a wide view and let it paint whoever the cadre most wants dead. It never fights back, which teaches the party that the harmless-looking disc is why they keep getting hit.
Loot / Evidence / Hooks: A markerlight array and targeting cogitator, replaced by the crate next encounter.
Enemy Dossier
GM ReferenceAn autonomous markerlight platform that hovers, watches, and quietly makes every T'au weapon on the field more accurate. It is the cheapest force multiplier in the cadre and dies apologetically.
Use this enemy to give any T'au group markerlight support without spending a living specialist on the job.
Threat Profile: Minimal durability, no direct damage, accuracy support for all T'au fire, hover mobility, first thing worth shooting.
