Gun Drone
A small autonomous gun platform.
Threat File — Gun Drone
TR 2 · T'au EmpireSenses: Sensor suite ignores dim light within 60 feet
Machine Sentry. The gun drone does not make Morale checks and is immune to fear and Suppression. It never abandons its patrol logic.
Hover Platform. The gun drone ignores ground hazards and difficult terrain, and may hold firing angles above cover that living troops cannot.
Twin Pulse Carbines. Ranged Attack: +3 to hit, range 60/180 ft., one target. Hit: 1d6 + 1 energy damage. The drone makes this attack twice; if both hit the same target, that target makes a Willpower Save DC 11 or becomes Pinned until the start of the drone's next turn.
Escort Reposition. The drone moves up to its full Movement to place itself between its ward and the nearest attacker, without provoking Reactive Fire.
Morale: Does not make Morale checks (machine protocol). Fights until destroyed or recalled.
Tactics: Tireless, stupid, and precise. It holds angles living troops would abandon and harasses anyone who breaks cover. The T'au spend gun drones freely; so should the GM.
Loot / Evidence / Hooks: A recoverable drone chassis with twin carbines, still transmitting its position to the cadre.
Enemy Dossier
GM ReferenceA disc-shaped autonomous weapons platform with twin pulse carbines and no self-preservation to appeal to. Individually trivial; in numbers, a persistent tax on every open crossing.
Use this enemy as cheap escorting firepower, perimeter security, or attrition that costs the T'au nothing to lose.
Threat Profile: Low durability, light ranged harassment, hover mobility, immune to fear, dangerous mainly as escort or in pairs.
Machine Sentry. Immune to fear and Morale; never abandons its patrol logic.
Hover Platform. Ignores ground hazards and holds unusual firing angles above cover.
Twin Carbine Burst. Two light ranged attacks against one target, or one attack that threatens Pinning on a hit.
Escort Reposition. Moves to keep itself between its ward and the nearest attacker.
Morale: No Morale — machine protocol; fights until destroyed or recalled.
Tactics: Run gun drones as tireless, stupid, and precise. They hold angles living troops would abandon and harass anyone who breaks cover. Spend them freely — the T'au do.
