Saves: Toughness +12, Willpower +11

// Traits

Mountain of Rot. Does not make Morale checks and is immune to fear, Suppression, poison, and disease. It reduces all incoming damage by 5; wounds carved into it seal with cheerful gurgles, and when it takes 20 or more damage from a single hit, a nurgling swarm spills from the gap.

Garden of Everything. The battlefield within 30 feet of the horror is toxic ground for enemies: healing fails inside it, and each round spent there requires a Toughness Save DC 17 or the creature sickens and suffers Corruption exposure.

Wellspring Anchor. At 0 Vitality it is banished in a flood of filth that permanently blights the site — but it returns unless the plague wellspring sustaining it is cleansed or a banishment rite completed. Treat this as an objective encounter with a jolly voice.

// Actions

Multiattack. The horror makes two Doomsday Bell attacks, or one Doomsday Bell attack and uses Grandfather's Bounty.

Doomsday Bell. Melee Attack: +10 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 4d10 + 7 bludgeoning damage, and any cover struck is destroyed. A surviving target makes a Toughness Save DC 17 or is infected with a named plague.

Vomitous Deluge. The horror disgorges a 30-foot cone of caustic filth. Creatures in the cone make an Agility Save DC 17, taking 4d8 toxic damage and falling Prone in the mess on a failure, or half damage on a success.

Grandfather's Bounty. The horror births a nurgling swarm within 20 feet, or restores one banished lesser Nurgle daemon to the field at half Vitality, laughing either way.

// Reactions

Gurgling Reprisal. When a creature within reach hits the horror, filth sprays from the wound: that creature makes a Toughness Save DC 17 or takes 2d6 toxic damage.

Morale: Does not make Morale checks whatsoever (daemonic nature). It enjoys the fight, compliments good hits, and treats its own banishment as a fond farewell rather than a defeat.

Tactics: Run this as an objective encounter with a contamination clock: the rite or wellspring sustaining it, cleansing anchors to light, an evacuation or antidote deadline running underneath. Trading rounds with it is precisely the game it always wins — its auras tax every round spent in reach, and its damage reduction mocks attrition in return. Let it chat warmly with the party throughout; the horror is that it means every word.

Loot / Evidence / Hooks: The blight it leaves belongs on the campaign map; at its center sits the cracked doomsday bell, still tolling faintly, which no two instruments agree is actually there.

GM Reference

A Great Unclean Horror-Type is a greater plague daemon — a mountain of loving rot whose affection for mortals is expressed in diseases with pet names. It is an attrition boss the size of a building, and it is delighted the party came.

// Battlefield Use

Use this threat as the climax of a contagion arc: the source the plagues were flowing from, met in a place already half-digested by its presence.

// Threat Profile

Extreme durability with layered damage reduction, area disease and despair auras, devastating melee, spawns nurglings, healing denial, immune to morale, banished rather than killed — an objective encounter with a jolly voice.

// Signature Traits

Daemonic Nature. No morale, immune to fear, Suppression, poison, and disease; banished at 0 Vitality in a flood of filth that permanently blights the site.

Mountain of Rot. Reduces all incoming damage severely; wounds carved into it seal with cheerful gurgles, and nurglings spill from the deep ones.

Garden of Everything. The battlefield within 30 feet is toxic ground for enemies; healing fails inside it, and each round spent there risks sickness and Corruption exposure.

// Signature Actions

Doomsday Bell. Colossal melee attack that destroys cover and infects survivors with a named plague.

Vomitous Deluge. 30-foot cone of caustic filth: save or take heavy poison damage and be knocked prone in the mess.

Grandfather's Bounty. Births a nurgling swarm or restores a lesser Nurgle daemon to the field, laughing.

Morale: No morale whatsoever; it enjoys the fight, compliments good hits, and treats its own banishment as a fond farewell rather than a defeat.

The blight it leaves behind belongs on the campaign map.
