Deathmark-Type Sniper
A phase-sniper that attacks from impossible angles.
Threat File — Deathmark-Type Sniper
TR 8 · NecronsProficiencies: Stealth +7, Awareness +6
Senses: Sees normally in total darkness
Hunter's Mark. At the start of the encounter, the deathmark designates one creature as its mark. It gains +2 to hit and +1d8 damage against the mark, and it always knows the mark's location. If the mark dies, it may designate a new one at the start of its next turn.
Dimensional Oubliette. The deathmark begins the encounter phased out and enters play anywhere with line of sight to its mark. Once per scene it may phase out again at the end of its turn, re-entering at a new vantage at the start of its next turn.
Synaptic Disintegrator. Ranged Attack: +7 to hit, range 150/600 ft., one target. Hit: 2d10 + 4 energy damage. On a critical hit against its mark, the target makes a Toughness Save DC 14 or is reduced to 0 Vitality by engram-burn; on a success it takes an extra 2d10 energy damage instead.
Kill-Box Calibration. The deathmark holds perfectly still and lets geometry do the work: its next Synaptic Disintegrator attack against its mark before the end of its next turn is made with Advantage and ignores cover.
Step Between. When the deathmark is charged, engaged in melee, or Suppressed, it phases to another vantage point it can see within 60 feet. Once per round.
Morale: Does not make Morale checks. When the mark dies, it phases out and awaits the next designation — a hole in the air where the danger was.
Tactics: Announce the mark, then make geometry the enemy: every window, gantry, and impossible angle is a potential firing point. The party's counters are smoke, cover discipline, and forcing it to relocate wastefully. Never let it stand in a fair fight; it is a scalpel and it teleports.
Loot / Evidence / Hooks: Its designation node — a sliver of green crystal that always points at the mark — outlives the rifle, which dissolves on destruction.
Enemy Dossier
GM ReferenceA Deathmark-Type Sniper is an assassin that waits inside a pocket dimension until its mark is designated, then steps out of nowhere with a rifle that kills through hyperspace. The first warning is the wound.
Use this enemy when someone in the party has been marked for deletion — and the battlefield's angles stop being trustworthy.
Moderate durability, extreme single-target rifle damage, dimensional repositioning, marked-prey mechanics, no morale.
Hunter's Mark. Designates one target; the Deathmark's attacks against the mark gain +2 to hit and extra damage, and it always knows the mark's location.
Dimensional Oubliette. Begins encounters phased out; enters play anywhere with line of sight to its mark. Once per scene it may phase out again to reposition.
Synaptic Disintegrator. Long-range precision shot; against the marked target, a critical hit inflicts a lethal engram-burn requiring a Toughness Save.
Step Between. Relocates to another vantage as a reaction when its position is charged or Suppressed.
Morale: None; if the mark dies, it phases out and awaits the next designation — a hole in the air where the danger was.
