Daemonhost, Minor
A contained catastrophe with failing containment.
Threat File — Daemonhost, Minor
TR 7 · Daemons & Warp EntitiesSaves: Toughness +7, Willpower +6
Senses: Sees normally in total darkness, Perceives warded and sanctified objects within 60 feet
Bound in Word and Iron. The daemonhost begins with three intact wards. Each time it is bloodied, targeted by a completed rite, or uses Strain the Bindings, one ward breaks: it gains, in order, +10 feet of movement and hovering, +1 to hit and +1 to save DCs, and a second Warp-Scourged Grasp attack per turn.
Daemonic Nature. The daemonhost does not make Morale checks and is immune to fear and Suppression. If the host body dies, the daemon is banished — violently, dealing 2d6 warp damage to every creature within 10 feet.
Aura of the Ninth Seal. A creature that starts its turn within 10 feet of the daemonhost makes a Willpower Save DC 14 or is Frightened until the end of its turn. A creature that ends three or more turns inside the aura in one scene suffers Corruption exposure.
Warp-Scourged Grasp. Melee Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft. (levitating chains and burning script), one target. Hit: 2d10 + 3 warp damage. On a critical hit, the target also suffers Corruption exposure.
Hurled Blasphemy. Ranged Attack: +6 to hit, range 40/120 ft., one target. Hit: 2d8 + 3 warp damage. This attack ignores Light Cover.
Strain the Bindings. The daemonhost forgoes its attacks and breaks one of its own wards (see Bound in Word and Iron). The host screams a warning in its own voice — each ally of the party who hears it may immediately move up to half its speed or take cover.
The Chains Answer. When a creature within 10 feet hits the daemonhost with a melee attack, its chains lash back: the attacker makes an Agility Save DC 14 or takes 1d10 warp damage and is knocked Prone.
Morale: Does not make Morale checks (daemonic nature). It seeks its own release above all, and will cooperate with, betray, or slaughter its handlers in whatever order serves that.
Tactics: Run the bindings as a visible countdown the party can read: chains snapping, script burning away, the host's voice losing ground. Its handlers are a second faction with their own agenda. The best outcomes usually involve the host's name, the binding ritual, or a mercy nobody wants to perform.
Loot / Evidence / Hooks: The binding chains and scriptwork survive banishment; intact, they are worth an Inquisitorial favor — or a very bad idea waiting for a second host.
Enemy Dossier
GM ReferenceA Minor Daemonhost is a contained catastrophe with failing containment: a bound daemon stitched into mortal flesh by chains, scripture, and somebody's terrible judgment. Every scene it is on the field, the question is whose control it slips first.
Use this enemy as a radical's weapon, a cult's centerpiece, or a rescue objective that fights back — a boss whose bindings are part of the encounter.
High durability, warp-fueled attacks, fear and Corruption pressure, unnatural resilience, binding-dependent behavior, escalates dangerously as wards fail.
Bound in Word and Iron. Its bindings limit it; as wards are broken (by damage, ritual, or its own straining), it gains speed, power, or new abilities.
Daemonic Nature. Does not check morale, immune to fear and Suppression; if the host body dies, the daemon is banished, violently.
Aura of the Ninth Seal. Enemies starting their turn within 10 feet make a Willpower Save or are Shaken; lingering exposure risks Corruption.
Warp-Scourged Grasp. Melee attack of levitating chains and burning script; critical hits inflict Corruption exposure.
Hurled Blasphemy. Ranged bolt of warp-force that ignores Light Cover.
Strain the Bindings. Sacrifices its action to break one of its own wards, escalating its next round; the host screams a warning the party can act on.
Morale: No morale; it seeks its own release above all, and it will cooperate with, betray, or slaughter its handlers in whatever order serves that.
Tactics: Run the bindings as a visible countdown the party can read: chains snapping, script burning away, the host's voice losing ground. Its handlers are a second faction with their own agenda.
