Chaos Spawnling
A lesser body-horror result of mutation run wild.
Threat File — Chaos Spawnling
TR 5 · Chaos & HereticsSaves: Toughness +6
Senses: Senses living creatures within 30 feet regardless of sight
Still Becoming. At the start of each of the spawnling's turns, its attack profile shifts (claws, tongue, bone-spur) at GM whim; the numbers stay the same, but the damage type may change between slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning. It is never the same threat twice.
Horror of the Flesh. An enemy seeing the spawnling for the first time makes a Willpower Save DC 13 or is Frightened until the end of its next turn.
Frenzied Rending. The spawnling makes two attacks against one target. Melee Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft. Hit: 1d8 + 3 rending damage.
Spasm Lunge. The spawnling moves up to its full Movement toward the nearest living creature, friend or foe, ignoring difficult terrain, then makes one Frenzied Rending attack against it.
Morale: Does not make Morale checks; there is no mind left to break. It attacks the nearest life until destroyed, including its former cult.
Tactics: Release it into a fight already in progress and let it be everyone's problem; cultists fear it as much as the party does. It is a hazard with legs, not a duelist, and its unpredictability breaks stable firing lines.
Loot / Evidence / Hooks: A cult brand or slave-collar still fused to the meat, identifying which cell penned it and who it used to be.
Enemy Dossier
GM ReferenceA Chaos Spawnling is mutation run wild in a body too small to survive it — a recent, lesser failure of the flesh still fast enough to kill. Cults keep them penned as punishments, guards, and warnings.
Use this enemy as a shock release in cult lairs — the thing behind the door the party should not have opened.
Moderate durability, fast erratic melee, fear pressure, no tactics at all — pure released hazard.
Still Becoming. Its attack profile shifts each round (claws, tongue, bone-spur) at GM whim; never the same threat twice.
Horror of the Flesh. Enemies seeing it for the first time save against fear or are Frightened for a round.
Frenzied Rending. Multiple weak melee attacks against one target.
Spasm Lunge. Sudden movement toward the nearest living thing, friend or foe, ignoring difficult terrain.
Morale: No morale; attacks the nearest life until destroyed, including its former cult.
Tactics: Release it into a fight already in progress and let it be everyone's problem — cultists fear it as much as the party does. It should feel like a hazard with legs, not a duelist. Use its unpredictability to break stable firing lines.
