Threat File — Chain-Axe Devotee
TR 3 · Chaos God-Aligned CultsSaves: Toughness +4
Proficiencies: Athletics +4, Intimidation +3
Revving Dread. Enemies within 10 feet of the devotee when it begins a charge suffer -1 to saves against fear until the end of the round. The sound arrives before the axe.
Meat Before Metal. The devotee deals +1 damage against targets that are not in cover and not wearing armor. It goes for the soft ones first.
Chainaxe Overhand. Melee Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d10 + 2 slashing damage. If the target is behind Light Cover, the cover is shredded and provides no Defense until repaired.
Bellowing Advance. The devotee moves up to its Movement toward an enemy. One enemy along its path makes a Willpower Save DC 12 or takes -1 to its next attack roll or save.
Morale: Fanatical. When bloodied it frenzies rather than flees, gaining +1 damage and losing the ability to retreat, disengage, or take cover.
Tactics: Advance in loose packs behind the rabble wave and hit whatever the first wave uncovered. It chops through Light Cover rather than going around; let the party hear the chains eating their barricade. It has no answer to a party that keeps its distance, so make distance hard to keep.
Loot / Evidence / Hooks: A working chainaxe with a fouled motor; a Tech check DC 12 restores it to service.
Enemy Dossier
GM ReferenceThe Chain-Axe Devotee is a chain-weapon fanatic who tries to solve cover with screaming — a step above the blood-mad rabble, with real muscle behind a real weapon. It is the standard line trooper of a Khornate warband, insofar as Khorne has lines.
Use this enemy as the melee backbone of Khornate forces, filling the space between disposable rabble and true champions.
Moderate durability, strong melee damage, charge-capable, fearless, no ranged answer and no patience.

Bellowing Advance. Move plus intimidation; one enemy in its path saves or is shaken (-1 to its next roll).
Morale: Fanatical; frenzies rather than flees when bloodied, gaining fury and losing what little judgment remained.
