// Traits

The Eightfold Tally. Each kill the butcher makes advances its rite. At three kills the light goes brass and its Khornate allies gain +1 to fear-causing effects; at five, daemonic whispers impose -1 on enemy Willpower Saves within the battle; at eight, something steps through.

Anointed in Ruin. The butcher is immune to fear and psychic morale pressure. Blood hardens on its skin like armor: +1 Defense while bloodied.

Wrathful Focus. The butcher cannot be Suppressed or Pinned during any round in which it has dealt damage to an enemy.

// Actions

Rite-Blade Execution. Melee Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2d10 + 4 slashing damage. Against a Pinned, Prone, or Grappled target it deals an extra 1d10 damage and counts as a ritual kill for the Eightfold Tally even if the target survives, because the blood spills correctly.

Carve the Sigil. The butcher cuts a rune into floor or flesh, marking a 10-foot square. Until the end of the scene, Khornate allies fighting within the sigil deal +1 damage.

Offering of Self. Denied enemy blood, the butcher opens its own flesh, taking 1d10 damage that cannot be reduced and advancing the Eightfold Tally by one.

// Reactions

Blood Answers Blood. When an enemy within reach deals damage to the butcher, it may make one Rite-Blade Execution attack against that enemy.

Morale: Never flees. If the rite completes it kneels in triumph; if the rite is broken it spends its life taking revenge on whoever broke it.

Tactics: Give the rite a visible track the party can read — sigils igniting, the air going copper. The butcher hunts efficiently, preferring helpless targets and its own wounded allies over hard fights, because the tally is all that matters. The party wins by denying kills: rescuing the downed, breaking the sigils, and refusing to bleed on schedule.

Loot / Evidence / Hooks: A rite-ledger of tally marks naming the site and hour of the summoning; the blade weeps when carried near consecrated ground.

Enemy Dossier

GM Reference

The Blood-Rite Butcher is Khorne's ritualist — a contradiction the Blood God tolerates because its liturgy is slaughter. Every kill it makes in the right sequence pours blood toward something arriving.

// Battlefield Use

Use this enemy when a Khornate fight needs a clock: its kills advance a summoning, and the party must stop the tally, not just survive the mob.

// Threat Profile

High durability, elite melee damage, ritual-objective pressure, fear generation, kills that count double — once for the fight, once for the rite.

// Signature Traits

The Eightfold Tally. Each kill the butcher makes advances the rite; at thresholds the GM escalates: brass light, daemonic whispers, and finally something stepping through.

Anointed in Ruin. Immune to fear and psychic morale pressure; blood on its skin hardens like armor (+1 Defense while bloodied).

Wrathful Focus. Cannot be Suppressed or Pinned during any round in which it wounded someone.

// Signature Actions

Rite-Blade Execution. Devastating melee attack; against a Pinned, prone, or grappled target it counts as a ritual kill even if the target survives, as the blood spills correctly.

Carve the Sigil. Cuts a rune into floor or flesh; Khornate allies who fight within it frenzy harder (+1 damage).

Offering of Self. Wounds itself to advance the tally by one when denied enemy blood.

Morale: Never flees; if the rite completes, it kneels in triumph, and if the rite is broken, it spends its life taking revenge.
